Week 12 - April 8th to 14th:

Updates:

Updated Presentation
Decided upon the final design of the motor in the back
One powered wheel in the middle and two support wheels on the side
Ordered the Following Parts:

Tools:

The tools will become lab tools once we are finished with them

Concerns:

The seat back has fallen off and we do not yet have a replacement
We are still unsure of the power of the motor. It may not be enough to move the kart.

Week 10 - March 18th to 24th:

Updates:

Preliminary design for the motor and the back (and some "bloopers"!)

Concerns:

The seat back has fallen off
We need to find some more parts and maybe redesign the back

Week 7 - Feb-Mar 25th to 3rd:

Updates:

Finished the back seat

Concerns:

The steering loosens up over time. We aren't sure of a fix
We need to meet as a group of 4 and decide how to design the back

Week 6 - February 18th to 24th:

Updates:

2/4 of our group are in Israel: Only Jake C and Ben Y remain
We have finally finished the steering, we now only need to work on the back of the kart

Concerns:

Dr. Baharav and Mr. Kelley are gone for two weeks
We will not reach the goal of having the motor working by March 2nd
We have no teacher guidance for discovering how the throttle works

Week 5 - February 11th to 17th:

The steering design has veen finalized and created. We did not take picture of this, unfortunately

Concerns:

Still have a major concern with the motor and batteries!

Week 4 - February 4th to 10th:

We began constructing the steering:

There has been a major setback this week. Every time we built a new steering system, it would either break or not function properly.

Here is an example of steering we made. This design has far too much slack and the turning of the wheels does not respond quickly enough to input from the steering shaft.
